Iguana Housing

My husband built a cage from Pine wood and chicken wire to house some sugar gliders. Well they are now with another family and I wanted to know if the cage would be ok for an iguana. It is 8 ft. tall X 4 ft. wide X 2 ft. deep. Also, I would be keeping this inside of my house at all times. Would it be too cold for an iguana since it is completly open? If it will be too cold can you give me some suggestions as how I could fix that problem? Any help you can give will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kelly Guenther

first off get rid of the chicken wire and replace it with plexi glass or glass to retain heat. not a bad size cage. use very small guage wire on the top for your lights. use 5.0 uvb light and a basking light. don't forget to use a calcium supplement on the food.. good luck! lzrdldy

if you have a room where you can keep the humidity on the right level (some people have reptile or iguana rooms) then then the wire is ok. Just be sure and use something which allows alot of UVB to come through the top. I would suggest using a TREX spot or ruvb (http://www.reptileuv.com/) for any iguana species.
