mythbusters found out, the hard way, that they don't zigzag. they tested it at the Gator Farm in St. Augustine, FL. I only know cause I was living three blocks away when the filmed it. And no I didn't get to meet them-wish i had!

Dang it... Add dumeril boa to my list. I did the one thing you're not supposed to. I reached into the feeding bin. I've been drinking and in my infinite wisdom I reached in and moved the rat, getting tagged in the process. Luckily he is still young (3ish feet). I can't help but laugh at my stupidity.

Oh God...

I can't wait to go back and read this one...

Lets see, as near as I can recall...

snapping turtle, not as bad as you would think
red eared slider, worse than above
box turtle, just to see if they could
bull frog, grabbed the wrong end
various toads,
anoles, that was cute
Savannah monitor
Nile monitor
water monitor
fence lizards
collard lizards
green iguanas
rhino iguanas
Cuban Rock iguanas...in Gitmo!
B&W tegus
redu tegu
Burmese python
ball python
carpet python
blood python
reticulated python
Amazon tree boa
Cooks tree boa
variable king
every single effing California king I have ever touched!
checkered garter snake
eastern garter snake
Northern pine
struck at by 3 timber rattlers, but they missed!
pacman frog, frogs has teeth?
tokay gecko. Twice because I didn't believe the first one?

And last but, well maybe it doesn't count...you tell me.

Alligator. It was a hatchling. It was gaping. I stuck my finger in its mouth on purpose just to say I was bitten by an alligator. Does that make me a bad person?

That about rounds it out. Most of these came from herping adventures OR from my tenure in a pet shop. There are many I have missed I am sure.

Oh, and for the record, that gator freaking hurt

i grew up in Florida, seeing gators most every day, and would never EVER stick my hand in a gators mouth just to say i did it! Although, if you are interested, there are some gator farms that offer day-courses in gator wrestling...you might get to put your head in their mouth!

Haha, I used to get bit by those all the time at Pet(notso)Smart. Those combined with long tailed lizards and mediterranean geckos we used to catch on the sides on our house in Texas. Cute really is the only word for it. My wife was afraid to let them bite her, although they bit me dozens of times in front of her. Haha!

Oops, hit post on accident...

I used to catch those little mediterranean geckos all the time. I'd tell my wife to hold it so I can take a pic or whatknot and she would freak, "No, it's gunna bite me!". I'd tell her, "So........?". To this day she has only taken a nip from a baby coastal carpet (didn't even draw blood) and a nip from a small amazon tree boa through a pair of thick work gloves (again, no blood). I know bites can suck from something bigger, but she needs to take a REAL bite from one of our snakes. Then maybe she wouldn't be so afraid because nothing we have will really hurt you. Nothing a bandaid can't solve at least. Like my bite above.

Anyone agree?

just a rosy boa ( my fault, I had just been changing mice cages and customer brought in a rosy to turn over.) and a milk snake that is full ornery as heck. lots of strikes from some very mean kings, corns and milks, few from some balls but no hits other than the first two.
