Tarantula taxidermy...

Lost my rose hair this this morning Not sure why but she did take a leap off a friends shoulder last week, might have suffered from the fall.

Anyway, anyone familiar with preserving them?

I did a scorpion a while ago. I gutted him and stuffed with a cotton ball, then glued it up and hair sparyed it. Would it be the same? The scorp is just so much different with its exo compared to the soft abdomen.

I did taxidermy for 5 years but I have to say I've never tried insects.

I would say you are on the right track with the way you did the scorpion. Just get as much as the "guts" out as you can, any soft tissue or eatable meat will just attract small bugs over time.
After getting the innards out just stuff the abnoman with cotton. Then just pin his legs and body in the position you want and allow it to dry out. Should be just fine. good luck!

thanks guys, i have started the T... pretty much completed it too. I ended up doint the who stuff it's abdomen and hair spray the rest. It has worked so far, but it was a big pain in the ass compared to the scorpion. There is so much more hear on it and getting all the hair spray dropplets off the hairs so that it didnt look crappy has been fun lol

Heres a pic of the Asian Forest scorp i did, i'll get pics up of this one when i take some final shots.

I used sticky tack for the scorp, but not to the T. Hairspray doesnt stick to it!
