Herpstat vs Helix DBS-1000

I've heard the helix were expensive and since I only have a couple of corns I found something cheap. You may not beleive this but I used a waterbed thermostat. I got it for $19.00 on ebay. I don't like the way it makes the infrared light flicker so I found a Repti Temp 500R from Zoo Med. I haven't tried it yet but got it for my next enclosure. It was only about $15-$17.00 and has 2 recepticles for devices.

The ReptiTemp 500R is a basic, cheap Tstat that has served plenty of reptile keepers over the years. I'm not knocking it when I say that it isn't in the same class as a Helix or Herpstat...it just isn't. People have to consider their specific needs before purchasing a Tstat, as opposed to buying based on brand name or price.
