Profile: Almandine

(How odd...I though I'd posted this before, and it disappeared....)

For this entry, we are profiling Almandine, the fourth of our six adult breeder females.

Almandine was born in June 2008. We named her, as with all Living Gems females, after a semiprecious gemstone.

Here is Almandine as of April 2009, very early in her Living Gems career, exploring the bed. Note her cool back patterns:

Here is Almandine as of July 2012, on the occasion of her fourth birthday. Note these shots are not my usual style -- this was in breeding season, and I wanted to disturb her as little as possible.

Note the color in this shot comes across as more orange due to the inside lighting…she’s actually more of an orange-red “brickish” color.

Almandine was re-introduced to her 2012 mate Scarface in early November (there were no babies last year due to a late start). Here’s to hoping she passes on those cool patterns!

I know you name the ladies after gemstones, but that name "Almandine" fit's her perfectly with all color she has to flaunt! As always Cliff, she's a beauty.
