Rosy acting strange, or is it me...

To any Rosy owners who could give advice, it would be welcome.

Recently my male Rosy has been acting out of character. The temps are always spot on in my opinion, the cool side is around 80 with slight nightly dips, and my heating pad(a cobra which I just bought) provides a nice hot spot of 90-95 degrees.
The problem is that my boy just sits on the cool side against the glass in the corner all day and night, he never touches the hot spot and I'm worried he is not thermo-regulating properly. He still eats well and then poops, so maybe I'm just being paranoid, I dunno.
It's just strange that he went from climbing vines and being active, to just lounging in the corner.
Maybe it's too hot in there and he doesn't need the hotspot.
Well thats about it, even if you don't have a Rosy and you read this and it sounds weird to you, let me know.

Well...

IMO you need to drop the hotspot temp so that it doesn't get that hot. 95° is way too hot. For males I set mine for 90° max!
As long as he eats/poops fine just keep a lookout...but in the wild, while not digesting, rosies will tend to keep their body temps at, roughly, 81°...therefore, they need temps in the 70's too to properly thermoregulate.

Thanks John! I just got the heat mat about a week ago and it supposedly doesn't get over 100 degrees.
Before I set it in I tested it and it got damn near 115-120! So I hooked it to the rheostat and dropped it to 95. I will lower it to 90 though.
The amount of info out there is overwhelming and often times conflicting. As you breed them I value your opinion greatly.
Would you mind if I asked you a question or two personally (about snakes) every now and again? I could use a guru.

AlbinoRosy is spot on. Drop the hotspot to 90 and only for gravid females do I raise it to 92. I was gonna suggest a rheostat and or a thermometer with a temp shut off. But sou ds like your already on the right path. Also as Albino Rosy. Said check out localityrosys forum to read, see, and conversate with the rosy gurus.
