Once the tail is constricted due to retained sheds, it might always look funny. It's quite common... good that you got all the stuck sheds off, so that the end of the tail doesn't actually die.
That's one thing I check every one of my snakes for after each shed - the very tip of the tail, and eyecaps. It's more important to check when they are smaller/younger, since older snakes tend to shed more easily (their sheds are thicker and seem to be more likely to come off in one piece at the tail) and most of their growing is done.
Stuck sheds in most other areas can be easily addressed, but the eyecaps and tail tips can build up badly if several bad sheds happen in a row and it's not caught.
