Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

All ready getting a second
so the Columbian i adopted is doing great. I'm looking at a second one, a Sonora boa. its at a local pet store and its beautiful. I think it looks like a Guyana but from what Ive been told they are very closely located so they look alike. is that true?? Also if i were to breed them (they should both be futile in a year) could i sell a Columbian X Sonora for more than just a one or the other?? i think regardless of what they are crosses of both parents will be beautiful. heres a pic of the Columbian. as you can see he is very clean barely any freckles
Thanks

I think whoever told you that is mistaken.
Guyanas are BCC (boa constrictor constrictor), and Sonorans are BCI. Also, Sonorans are a dwarf subspecies of BCI, while Guyanas tend to grow to much larger sizes than normal BCI.
Guyanas tend to be purple/pink/red and have saddles with large peaks. Take a look at RioBravoReptiles site.. they have some pics of a Sonoran (in the Dwarf Boas from Mexico section). Guyanas tend to look more like Surinames, there are some Guyana pictures in the Surinam boa page.
Most of the Boa Constrictor subspecies seem to interbreed easily. However, crossing a "special" boa like a Sonoran, with a "common" boa like the one you adopted (even though it's a very nice normal), probably would not be worth more, unless they looked unique for some reason - like if the babies wound up being striped or strangely colored. People who like to keep dwarf boas tend to like their bloodlines to be pure and uncrossed.
If you do get the Sonoran (if it is a Sonoran) and cross the two, just make sure you are very clear to any potential buyers what the parentage of the babies is.

Suriname I can buy as looking similar to a Guyana somewhat. Sonorans are from Mexico though, and look vastly different. My very first Boa was WC import from Suriname. (My 10th B-Day gift from my mom and Lloyd Lemke.)
You'll need to take care not to feed the Suri too large a meal. Actually, a bit smaller than normal IMHO. They tend to regurge if you give them one that's even slightly larger than them. I had this problem for a while with mine, and I've read countless others experiencing the same.
And about the crosses being worth more....NOPE! To be honest, you are likely to catch an equal amount of grief and praise for that pairing. And unless something really special pops up, you are likely to have a hard time selling them unless you drop the prices down. There are still many of us who totally frown upon crossing sub species barriers.
Good luck
