Jared Solomon caught scamming on Facebook auction page!

Thank You Laura for taking the time to put this together on Fauna Classifieds. Before anyone ask about "giving Jared a chance to defend himself" This is a Cut and Dry case. Jared has already admitted to his wrong doing. Allow me to simplify the situation-

1. Jared Solomon purchased a female Desert Banana Ball Python (Pet-Only) from BSR's back in October 2014 for $320.

2. Jared Solomon posted an Auction on Facebook listing the same exact animal (Desert Banana) but advertised her as a completely different mutation. He advertised her as a "Possible World's First- Pastel Leopard Banana poss. Het Pied" which would have been worth significantly more in value and started the Auction at a $800.00 starting bid, with $25.00 increments.

3. Jared Solomon stated several times that HE produced the animal at HIS facility. When questioned to share clutch photos, he claimed his phone fell in the Ocean with all of his stored pictures!

Conclusion- Jared never produced the animal, He purchased it on Auction at BSR's for $320 knowing it was an (Unfertile Desert Banana) "the add description from when he purchased it clearly stated that". Tom Stokes produced the animal and sold the clutch to Amir - "there were three of them". Jared Solomon purposely attempted to sell the animal as something completely different then what he knew it was for the sole purpose of making money.

I could have excepted and forgiven the mistake he made if he were to have come clean in the beginning. It was the Blatant lies and the lies to cover up previous lies that I am unable to forgive. The fact that he could do this so easily would make me very concerned for anyone dealing with him in the future.

just because you have a male desert that can breed doesn't make it right, the female off springs are all potentially doomed..

Apparently he has admitted to this. He should have made a public apology. Although there is absolutely NO excuse for what he did. It was a flat out scam and total disregard for the well being and future health of the animal. Smh.

Agree. And is the apology real or is he trying to do damage control after being caught.

I'd lean more on damage control. There is no room in our hobby for liars and thieves. I don't care that you are trying to pay your mortgage. If you can't afford your animals, don't have any!!!!!

I would think if you were trying to pay your mortgage that $320 would have been better spent as a partial mortgage payment rather than a premeditated scam.....it would be one thing to produce a snake and lie about it to make more money than it's worth (which is bad enough!!) but to stoop as rock bottom low as devise a plan to purchase a potentially high dollar animal knowing it was a rock bottom price due to its inability to breed/produce and then come up with a sales pitch that it was produced by him and is a world's first really takes the cake for the slime I have seen on this BOI.

To be honest Lucille, I have always thought of Jarod as being a stand up guy! Although I do not know him personally, he appears to have a decent collection of nicer animals, appears to have a nice family and somewhat successful with what ever it is he does for a living.

I personally would have loved to add a female Pastel Leopard Banana to my collection and was very much interested when I first saw his post. I would think Jared does realize the damage he has created for himself. But, there are several people here on Fauna that have screwed up royally in the past and over time have proven to be dependable. Most of them (that I can remember), were very young when they made their mistakes and got a young/stupid pass once they corrected their ways.

Jared is my age...Young/Stupid passes no longer apply.
