I still could be all those things....and if so they could defend themselves. I thought the point here was to just warn other people about bad experiences. Doesnt look like it so if whoever the powers that be want to delete these postings fine by me - I simply wanted to warn people.

Whenever dealing with a show vendor, I make sure to look at ALL the their animals. The overall health is a good indication of standard husbandry practices. Regal generally seems to provide lots of quantity, but the quality has never impressed me. There have been several times they had animals I would have liked, but passed up due to their apparently lax husbandry practices.

Sorry this worked out like this for you. You may need to wait until the next show to receive any compensation, though. In a show situation, it's sometimes better to speak personally so that the vendor can put a name to a face. It also makes it harder for them to tell you to p*** off if they have to look you in the eye to do it. (You may want to take a trip to Hamburg this Sat if you think it's worth your while).

Says "alot" about what? That I require people to stick out their own neck by being responsible for what they post here? That I don't want anonymous CRAP posted by every fake Tom, Dick and Harry who can then say whatever the hell they want because there is no ownership to the words? That then there would be no credibility at all to anything posted here, which would therefore make what the BOI is trying to do completely worthless?

Do you WANT everyone and anyone to be able to post anonymous crap about YOU whenever they feel like it? Or would you rather know who is making such claims so you could either refute them, or perhaps even take steps to making some corrections to that issue?

Yeah, I guess it DOES say a LOT about this forum, now doesn't it?

And for the record, had you NOT provided your name, this thread would have simply been deleted.

So what does THAT now "say alot" about?

I bought a few frogs from them at the last show and a few darts online from them - basically a pretty regular customer. Well, I get home an hour after the show unpack my bags and all my frogs are fine (I also bought many others from other vendors) except the RETF is what you see in the pic below. All I did was transport him home in my car - with the others - all of whom survived just fine. Its obvious they take very poor care of their animals and their business - just a fair warning. Just cheap and stupid. Their URL is - http://www.regalreptiles.com/new_web...uperstore.html
You are unrealistic to place the blame on anyone other than yourself on a dead amphibian.

You cant say that someone has taken poor care of the frog that died, there are so many variables that will kill a frog in transite from a show to your house.

If you have any experience with frogs you know that a small percentage just dont survive,

The standard guarantee on amphibians is live delivery or none at all.

Sorry for your loss, it happens.

I would find it HIGHLY unlikely for a HEALTHY frog to die within an hour after purchase. If anyone here has had such an occurence, especially when the frog in question was transported with others that survived, I'd like to here about it. An hour? Really?

Perhaps the buyer should have been more observant of the condition of the frog when he purchased it, but Regal should have been more observant when they sold it.

Red Eyes can be effected by taking them out of an established environment and transporting them.

The op said he bought it yesterday. it was cold yesterday and thats enought to kill a Red Eye quickly.

Unhappy By just a quick glance at the photo

By the way the frog appeared, it looks as if it suffocated or heat beyond normal provided its unfortunate death.

Ed - I know you probably have more amphibian knowledge than I, but surely an hour long drive is less stressful than being in a box, on a truck, a plane, another truck, and left on a doorstep, yet most sellers offer at least a live arrival guarantee.

Jerry - Can you give me some insight as to how you can make that guess from that picture? This is not meant sarcastically, but I just can't see it. Also, if it was due to extreme heat, why were the other frogs not affected?
