Do not buy from Mark A. Trojan

Hello All,
Do not buy a from a seller named Mark A. Trojan. This person is using this name fraudulently and scammed me out of $240 claiming that he was selling 5 green tree skinks. Unfortunately, I sent this person $240 via MoneyGram. Then this person haggled me about paying another $100 in shipping, which was not part of the original deal. Then, I called the actual Mark A. Trojan, who had never heard of me in New Jersey. Please avoid sending money to people you don't know. Only buy from people you know or an accredited business. Best,
-Kit Knight

Please Kit, I urgently need more cash to proceed with the shipping

I got insufficient cash to handle this.

Kit,
I have been so busy with this all morning.
Unfortunately, I've run short of funds because my wife is suffering
from dialysis.
I do not have extra 100 bucks to handle this.
Can you please send me 100 bucks asap. Please!!!
I am shipping from Newark, NJ
Please send the cash to me asap.
Here is my address:
Mark Trojan

Please send me 100 bucks via WU
https://www.westernunion.com/us/en/home.html
Western Union office is closer to where I am and I can easily grab the
cash and proceed with shipping.
Please treat this urgently.
So sorry for the trouble but I want us to handle this today
Remember you are sending cash to me and not to my colleague, Frank

All you actually need is my name: Mark Trojan
and State: New Jersey NJ
Please Kit,
Get to me asap
Kit, i am not happy with your silence
I have sacrificed several hours today for this already....

Mark,
I am a busy professor caught in meetings. It is not my mistake, rather it is your oversight on shipping costs. I owe you nothing and I have verification that you received the $240, which was the agreed upon price, which included shipping costs. You must send the lizards or I will report this transaction and pursue legal action. Best,
I will report a fraudulent transaction to the federal trade commission with both your and Frank's names unless you send the lizards asap. I'm not kidding around here. I've had too many fraudulent transactions to name and I've lost my patience.

I have wasted my time today because of you. I have stood there for
several hours because of shortages.
Do you have a conscience at all?
If you can not pay this $100, I would be reporting you for cheating instead
I can not send the lizards when you have not paid for shipping and I
have to pay back your money, you would have to compensate me for the
time I have lost and for the shipping box I have bought.
If you want to acquire these lizards, please pay this $100 asap.
If you asked me to ship and that you would pay upon receiving them, it
means you understand completely that shipping conditions can always
change depending on nature of package and destination.
I would appreciate if you spare 10 minutes of your busy schedule and
transfer this $100 to me by WU
Get it very clear. I will not send the lizards until you pay $100

I'm not paying another cent. I already paid what you asked. Send the lizards, refund my $240, or be reported.
Refund my money immediately.
This is what you said

I am in Towson, MD"

9/18/17 at 5:01 PM Mark A Trojan <markatrojan1@gmail.com> wrote:
I am not refunding your money.
It is your responsibility to take care of bills which arise
When I explained that there was a shortage of 92.5, you asked me to
send the lizards and that you would pay when you receive them.
Were you trying to deceive me?
I have wasted several hours just to get in touch with you and get the
lizards shipped today.
I bought a suitable shipping box
Was I wrong to contact you when there was a difficulty?
Who should I have contacted if not you?
I have shipped with FedEx a few times and it is normal to give a wrong
estimate because weight matters.
When box was weighed, the price was increased and also, I have never
shipped to NV
Distance also leads to increase in price.
I have shipped in the past and consulted the buyers who have
immediately paid more money because their packages mattered to them.
In spite of the amount i gave without any pre calculation, it is your
duty to pay this 100.00 asap.
I will not refund the cash. Sorry
That is my attorney's advice after I explained everything to him.
Pay this 100.00 asap and I send package ASAP

9/18/17 at 5:26 PM Kit Knight <kit.knight@unlv.edu> wrote:
Mark,
I am rescinding that offer to pay for shipping upon receiving the lizards. Your unprofessional demeanor along with your inability to calculate and communicate clearly about shipping costs has resulted in my wish for a refund. Please use PayPal with this email to refund my $240.00.

Best,
-Kit

I will not refund.
1-I have used the money you sent to solve my family issues
2-You have to pay for the hours and energy I have wasted. I am as busy
as you are but I have
sacrificed time
3-I bought a box and accessories with some of the money
And so if I sell the lizards to someone else, I will not refund all
$240 because of the reasons above.
Besides, my attorney told me not to refund and to let you know that it
is our business policy not to refund money for reptiles.
He also advises me to keep the lizards in good care until you become
able to pay the required $100 and get them

I'm give you 10 calendar days to refund the money, otherwise I'm reporting you to the cops.

Mark,
A few weeks ago, a fraud customer on eBay nearly scammed me out of $700. I caught onto the scam just before I sent the money. Now, I am terrified of scammers and this fear is why I poorly handled our conversation 2 days ago. I am sorry. It seems like you are a real person and not a scammer. I do need those lizards. I'm studying how those skinks walk along branches and don't fall off in terms of mechanical engineering and Newtonian physical principles. The truth is I am powerless in this situation. I could pursue this legally, but the cost of doing so would greatly outweigh the cost of the lizards. When you said, "I am asking $240 for all 5 with shipping included.
I am in Towson, MD" I took it as the price of shipping was included in the $240 you asked for.
This is what I'm offering. I'll pay for shipping ($100) plus and extra $50 for your lost time on Monday. But, you must send the lizards and make sure they arrive alive, and if they are alive and well, I will reimburse you $150 via PayPal.
I will care for the lizards very well, along with my institutional veterinarian.
Again, I am sorry you have my empathies for you and yours.
Kindly,
-Kit Knight

I just talked to Mark Trojan at Evergreen Recycling in Newark on the phone and he's never heard of me. Keep the $240. Good job scamming me. Just know the money you took came from my pocket and it actually does have negative consequences to me and my family. I pity you. Mark knows you're using his name. I'll go to IC3 and report all information you've given me.

The reason why I was selling the skinks was because I am very busy

Right now, the skinks are at my friend's house since he has other skinks.
To be sincere with you, I will only sacrifice to go there and get them
packaged and shipped to you only when you pay this 100 bucks.
That is what will make me sacrifice again.
If you refuse to do this, I will only have to wait until someone else
buys them and then I refund you.
But I promise you that I will send the package and send you a tracking
number if you trust me and respect me once again by paying this $100
You spoke to someone else

Damn it, I hate it when people catch dialysis....

This is a very blatant nasty scam, pretty sure there are no lizards waiting to be boxed.

This really sucks and I'm sure you don't a list of things to look for next time, but here are some red flags.

Cm instead of inches, everyone typically uses grams for weight but most of us in the US still use inches for length.

240.00 USD, again all of us in the US understand that is the currency we will use.

Never asked where you were until he agreed to lump shipping in the 240.00. Never send a money gram to someone you don't know.

Unfortunately this happens to a lot of people and I'm very sorry it has happened to you. Thank you for coming here and sharing and if you come up with any more info, please update us.

Oh wow! I’m glad I saw this! I was first referred to this man by another fauna person who said they bought an animal from him, and I was intentind to by the male from him, I saw Otis of both animals too from “mark”... I’m going to ask for more info from the other person who messaged me on fauna and see if they have any reliable details... if he is t fraudulent though, and you just need to pay shipping costs, I would think that would be the best bet in this case, as my discussion with him was first the price of the animal then he later reminded me of the additional $40 for shipping... but I will definitely be looking into this before sending money!
