water monitor toe cut and broke

i have a water monitor about two feet from head to end of tail ,still very small.something has happened to its toe,it looks as if it got caught in something.looks as if it is broke and may even fall off .should i leave it alone or should it be removed

Generally with a toe snap like that it just falls off of it's own accord with no lasting damage or infections to the animal. Strangely toe loss is extremely common.

Keep on eye on it however and the foot for any signs of swelling or favoring. Only in a sub par condition though do these things happen or the animal being of ill health.

I can only assume that the animal is well kept and 100% healthy since no husbandry /enclosure information was presented.
