Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Black Milksnake shedding frequency.
I made the mistake of posting this on KS and actually expecting a response...guess I'm not enough of an elitist snob....oh well , lesson learned, never going there again. To the point, I have raised from a baby a gaigae I purchased back in Nov 2003. She is about 52 inches long now, almost complete with her color change, and what puzzles me is the frequency in which she sheds. She is still doing this about every 4~5 weeks. I keep her at room temp (70's during the warm months, 60's during the cool ones), her cage is kept clean and dry, and she has no skin abnormalities that I can see. She is always fed f/t rodents (now 2 medium~large mice/week), so she's never had a wound on her. I keep records of all her sheddings and feedings using Freeherp. I'm curious as to how often your gaigae's have shed during their lifetime. Thanks!

John, I have several gaigae, and I notice they shed much more frequently in the Spring and early Summer. As long as they appear healthy and thriving, I don't worry about it.

I have a male black milk that I bought at a IRBA show in May of 2006. It was hatched in August of 2005. It's currently approx. 45". Weighed 25 ounces at last shed. I, too, have noticed that it sheds more frequently than any snake I've ever had. I was keeping weight and shed records on my computer...until my hard drive fried (hadn't backed up in about 14 months...dopey me). Last two sheds have been approx 30-35 days apart. I feed it two large mice per week (sometimes three).
