This is a nice NORMAL

Ok, I just bought this snake about a month ago. I have had a few people call this a pastel.....no, this is a normal...a very nice looking normal. Who knows, he may be genetic...but not a pastel.

Stefanie Saltzman,
my experience / opinion and my esperience / opinion ONLY.
Not stating as fact. But stating as I ave expereinced it.
And specially if your snake is an adult.

Some lineage of pastel do darken up with age.
As a matter of MY experience....I have seen adult pastels that look exactly like yours.
They gave birth to really bright babies.

If you ever want to sell that as a normal.
I would pay you slightly higher than normal price for it.

Yes I would feel guilty. But then again if I bought it fair and square I would not feel too guilty.

Translation..........

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and swims like a duck, but you want to sell it for the price of a nice chicken, I'd be interested!

LOL

LOL
he he hehe
thanks.
People here at work think I am crazy for laughing all by myself.
but I think you pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Anyway I could be TOTALLY wrong. But I am just speaking from my personal experience. Not expereince of having these myself.
Not experience of seeing pictures. But experience of seeing the baby grow up to be an adult and have a baby itself.

Hey Brian, after seeing what is going on over at Reptibid, I gotta admit you were right.
John Q public is ignorant and no matter what anyone tries to tell them, they will believe what they want.

tha animal above is a pastel jungle ADULT at NERD

The animals above are lemon pastels....normly they would be brighter. Must be the lighting. But look at how dark the adult is.

So if you want to sell your "normal"
I will offer you higher than normal price for it.

The picture I posted

Ok, I understand what you are saying, but I don't know if the snake I got is pastel or not. What gives him away of being a normal is that he has a long stripe going down the sides of his stomach and yes, it's white on his stomach, just that I don't know till I breed him to a normal female and see what comes out of his genes. If he does prove himself out to be something special (pastel, new gene), I'll be thrilled. But what I only know about pastels are that they don't have striped bellies. I could be wrong. I don't know if pastels have that kind of belly, can someone send a picture of what a pastels belly looks like?

OK, now I have a question. I understand the "pastel" ball thing, but how does it work w/ Boas?

There is an ad for "Dubay line pastels" in the boa section right now. I went and looked at them, and thier prices, and was frankly amazed! I have a Boa which I got as a farm raised baby, which I believe puts everything on that website to shame, but being that I have no idea of the bloodline can I still call it pastel? The Boas in the ad are nice, and seem to be selling quite well, but I have adults w/ more color than most of those pictured, so what's up with "pastel" boas? Is it all a bloodline thing, or is "pastel" just based on color?
