Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Hypo Broad Banded Copperhead?
I recently caught a broad banded copperhead that is much lighter than any I've seen. I'd like to know what ya'll think

It is a very light Agkistrodon contortrix laticinctus but for it to be "Hypo", you need to breed it and see if the trait is heritable.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. The meaning of hypomelanism has always been very vague to me about the difference between a lighter individual and a hypo one.

Can someone explain (assuming it is heritable) if it is or isn't hypo. I've collected quite a few broad bands and they are usually more of a darker maroon color never this light.

Looks like a light colored youno snake. I have several copperhead from young to old. They seem lighter sometimes then darker and I've got a theory that's it's based on the snakes mood.
