A water snake wouldn't be kept

the same way and most are beyond aggressive compared to a copperhead. how about a big bull or pine snake prelude to keeping a first hot. I mean yes, they can be aggressive and give out a very nasty bite ( non-venom of course ) but the circumstance is there of getting nabbed with the 2 mentioned snakes.

what i am going to try to do is find someone in arkansas that i can be a sort of apprentice under for a while, until they think that i am ready for one. Does anybody know anyone that lives in arkansas, preferably around jonesboro or in the northeast corner? If so, would they consider doing this?

I haven't been in AR for a few years, so I am of no help there. you should be pretty selective about who you choose to work with, though...you want to learn from somebody that does things the right way. If you get somebody that takes a bunch of shortcuts, or is a bit cavalier in his approach, you will just learn bad habits that could get you into trouble.
