Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Mother, Boyfriend Charged in Death of Florida Toddler Strangled by Python
Tuesday , August 25, 2009
Authorities say the mother of a Florida girl suffocated by a pet python last month has been charged in the child's death.
The Sumter County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Jaren Ashley Hare and her boyfriend, 32-year-old Charles Jason Darnell, were each charged Monday with manslaughter, third-degree murder and child abuse.
Two-year-old Shaianna Hare died July 1. Authorities say Darnell found the 8-foot python wrapped around her that morning.
He stabbed it several times and it eventually released her. A medical examiner determined the girl died from asphyxiation.
Hare and Darnell were each being held on $35,000 bond. Court documents that would list attorneys for them have not yet been processed.

Ooh, they gonna like him. He all soft and cuddly.
A question for you legal type though...I thought "murder" no matter the degree of the charge, was defined by "malice aforethought". ?? And manslaughter was any other form of wrongful death?
How they getting charged with both? If anyone knows Florida law.
But I think the snake should be cleared. I still don't think the snake did it.

The charges follow the rules of Florida law. However, at the time of trial only one charge or the other (manslaughter or third degree murder) will be considered. It meets the criteria for murder in that another crime was being committed (child abuse). Interesting that it turns out the snake really belonged to the mother. At least that helped in her being charged too.
These folks really rock. Meth, coke and child abuse charges. Improper care of animals. Improper care of children. Shame they both just don't get REALLY depressed and eat a gun before they crap out more kids.
Society couldn't be so lucky.

the only reason there being charged with manslaughter as oppose to murder is do to how it happened, however, the evidence will suggest murder and they will be charged accordingly, sooner or later. Since both were home when this happened, both will be treated as a single entity and the women will get off lighter than the guy will.
I wish they actually did a thorough autopsy so they could really prove it was them and not the snake, Sadly a dangerously damaging blow has still been dealt to us as a community before the facts were known about the parents....can we sue the bill makers now? Perhaps they should be the one's on trial anyway...
