Look on the BOI is happens a lot with people doing it for repeat customers and close friends. And usually ends up like this in the end.

And while I'd never advise someone to send without receiving payment, do keep in mind the BOI has a major selection bias - we see mostly the BAD deals, not the ones where things work out.
Someone was once kind enough to ship to me before receiving the MO I'd sent out (they didn't take paypal) since there was only one weekday I knew I could be home to receive. I didn't burn them :P

ckoeppel - FWIW, can you post any relevant email or messages between you and Brian Wilson, or a timeline of when the snake was sent, when the last email was, etc?

Despite the fact that the snakes were sent, prior to payment, there is only one person who committed a wrongful act.

Chris: There are a lot of people, by the name of Brian Wilson, in the Cinci area. Do you have an address for the person you dealt with?
Of course, the info, that others have requested, would be helpful as well.

Here is his address. I have emails from the previous transactions and a couple from this, but most everything from the last transaction was done through text. I'm assuming I get these from my provider?

That was actually from the second snake that we sold him. He was waiting for payment from another deal and was going to send it out as soon as he got it. Which he did. I will have to get my texts from my provider for the last transaction. I just thought this was a funny message considering where we are now. Here are the last few attempts I tried to get a hold of him.

Thanks for posting those. Others may disagree but I'm not sure how necessary the texts are unless Brian challenges the story?

Last question - any idea what his plans for the snake were? Like, do you think he wanted to keep it for himself, or might he be selling it?

He was planning on raising it up as it was a baby. He was just getting into morelia and wanted to start a breeding collection.

Sending the animal without payment was foolish. Stealing the snake by not paying for it is criminal. The person at fault is the theif, not the seller. Poor judgement call by someone who only made the mistake of trusting someone that turned out to be a skilled liar(apparently) is not reason that he deserves to have the animal stolen via nonpayment.

Sorry you didn't get paid, and I hope Brian mans up and pays his debt. It seems he's making a lousy start at building a breeding collection if he starts out stealing snakes.
