Angry what should the air temps be

I have had problems with over heating and under heating, every time I set the temp to 88 for my ball pythons they stop eating and then I will lower it again to 86 to get them to eat and then a couple of feedings will pass and they stop again. If some could tell me a good air temp and a good cage temp it would be app.

Someone please step in and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the general concensus is 90-91 deg on the warm side of the tub and 80ish on the cool side with the ambient room temp around 80. I'm sure there's plenty of other preferences, but this is what I keep mine at and have read alot alot alot of books, manuals, forums, etc that have roughly the same temps listed, so that's what I've been doing as well.

Hope this helps

If your animals have RI's you should probably get them to a vet asap. That can kill them if left untreated. Temperature and humidity fluctuations may be the culprit along w/cleanliness of the tub.

Give a precise description of what they're kept in, what temps you have them at, what kind of substrate you use, etc, in detail and the awesome people of this community will chime in and help you. I know a bit, but there's a lot of people here who can provide much greater and more experienced advice than I can.

I set the temp on hot spot on 88. My room temp i s 71. They all doing fine and eating fine. I read that I should keep the room temp to 80, I tried, that will kill me first too hot for me. I am trying to built them a snake room right now and put a little heater in.

I keep my balls 86-87 ambient warm end and 78-80 ambient cool end with a hot spot of 92.
IMO over 88 degrees ambient is too hot.

I am changing my cages and going to tanks.I keep them on newspaper and provide a hide box and a fresh bowl of water they can get into when needed.I have temps at around 79 at night and 91 at the daytime, this is why I can not figure out what is going on.I do know I will never bring another snake into my house again, only what I breed will be present. If I even sell any that will be a big IF.Believe me when I say this,I do not care about the money,I just love snakes they are bad to the bone and I do enjoy breeding them to see all the neat colors like my little solid black one {beautiful] she only had 6 to 7 alien heads on her hole body and they were bronze colored. Then I messed up and sold her because I did not know what I had and he sure did not let me know.I just hope I get another one.[But anyway]I do not keep them in tubs,I tried to set up a rack system once and just about killed my hole collection.I have to many drafts so I am trying to provide a room for them alone and set up the right stuff they will need.I have children and they do not know how to listen and constantly run in and out.I just got over a bad case of RI in a couple of my adults and spent 460 at the vet,so if it gets that bad do not worry they will get the needed treatment. However I am still going to go to 10 gallon tanks for my morphs, there only yearlings so they will grow into some beautiful 1.1 albinos,1.0 pastel,0.1 fire spider, and 2 I am not sure about I don't have a clue what they are.I have raised balls for many years and this is the first time I have ever had a problem. If any of you read my last post about an RI,I redone the hole system and now its going away.I also was told by the vet to force feed one of my adults to bring her back from 21 shots of batril.should I do that, she has'nt eaten in 4 months and her RI has gone, been gone for a while.thanks you all
