ackie substrate

its cold here in ohio and i cant get dirt can i use eco earth

If you have a Home Depot, Lowe's or any type of gardening center you can easily and cheaply buy what you need for substrate.
I use a sand, peat moss, top soil mix but for my ackie it was a primarily a sand mix with using less of the other two ingredient.

Mix all parts equally with water until it clumps but doesn't drip. But I use half sand then 1/4 of the other two.

So for every cup of sand I would use about 1/4 cup of peat moss and 1/4 cup top soil.

If you go with this option make 100% sure that you use non-treated.
