lol yeah now that you mention it, when i first introduced him to the female, he went and tried to bite her behind the neck, and started head bobbing so much he tipped over, but i just moved him to the other side of the tank, and he never did it again. lol so if i put a tank divider in there, i could put the two females in one side and him in the other?

Um, yeah...that biting on the back of the neck means "get out of my way...my hormones are raging and I"m going to something about it right now!" LOL!

I'd definitely section it off at about halfway, put the boy on one side, girls on the other, ONLY if the girls are very close in size and get along. Not all girls do get along, so that's something to watch, too. If everything is cool with the girls, i.e., same size and they get along, that should work just fine.

Now, once they're grown up, you'll have to get a tank for the male, as the 90 gallon will be good for the two girls, but too small for all three of them. But at least this buys you some time until you have to do something like that.

yeah. thank you very much. so what happens when i want to breed them and i have the females in the same tank? do i take the male and put him in their enclosure? for how long, and how do i know that their gonna have babies?

When they're old enough and big enough, you'd drop the male in with one of the girls, and WATCH HIM VERY CLOSELY, to make sure he's not too rough (we have a male that likes to bite the girls' faces). Most males will get busy immediately.

After they breed, you can expect eggs about 3-4 weeks later. Be forewarned, females can lay up to 4 clutches off one breeding, anywhere from 15 to 35 (give or take) eggs. You'll know she's gravid when she starts eating a LOT, then stops eating and starts digging and/or pacing the cage frantically trying to get out. Sometimes, you can actually see the outlines of the little eggs in her tummy, sometimes not, depends on how chubby she is.

You could temporarily put the other girl on his side, right?

lol oh right. well how long before i know that the "majic" has happened, so that he can mate with the other one? and is it ok to have to pregnant females in the same tank?

More than anything, it's all in her behavior. Most times, you really can't tell until about a week or so before she lays, unless you get a girl that you can feel the eggs (again, about a week or so before she lays).

Yes, it's perfectly safe to have two gravid girls in one tank.

oh thank you. and what should i do about a breeding box? and when you say they can drop numerous clutches, is that over a period of time?

I'm not sure I know what you mean by breeding box. Do you mean for her to lay her eggs in?

And yes, the clutches come about 3-4 weeks apart. I've got a girl that only laid 3 clutches one year, but they were 10 days apart, all 3 of them 27 eggs, which leads to....

Please remember that all beardies are different. A lot of times, you can get a dragon that does something totally different, or requires something totally different, than the general info. you find about caring for them, so just kind of try different things until you find what works for your particular dragon.
