This is the first release of a visual female (The male shown has sold) from a pair of True Calico Pied Tokay.
(SOLD, THANK YOU.)
To date, reproducing almost any white type Tokay has required line breeding. Or more simply, the breeding of related animals to recreate the visual traits of the wild caught parents. This has been established in at least 4 separate lines by breeding siblings, or offspring back to their parents.
This original pair, shown here as pictures 3 & 4, are Pied with various colored patches. When bred together they produce visual offspring. Most of their offspring look either mottled with all the colors blended, (Molten), or multi-colored patched, (Calico Pied) to some degree.
To my knowledge, this is the first ever captive bred Pied offspring being offered. This is all based on my first hand experience with three other lines I've proven out so far.
$3,250, shipped for this 1 year old, F-1, captive bred female Pied. Photos 1 & 2. (Parents shown here were featured in last December's Reptile Magazine Tokay Issue and are not for sale.)
