Ed, while I understand your dilemna that you dont have the money to refund or have an animal to replace it with. But, you cannot blame shipping on her being that YOU shipped it with those temps. It was entirely YOUR choice to ship out the animal, not hers. Even if she demanded that you ship, you still could have said no.
I will give my experience. I bought a lot of boas in January, paid in full upfront. The guarantees were weather-based and if I wanted them sooner, which I did, I would not get the guarantee. I chose to wait and get them when I would have a health guarantee and I received them today. Ultimately, when we sell, we are the ones who have to make sure that the customer receives their item in a condition suitable. If you breed, offer them credit towards something later on. If not, work out some sort of payment schedule with them to refund them the money. Just put yourself in their shoes and see how you feel walking in them.
