Sad day at our house...

We discovered that one of our corns, my son's favorite snake, died sometime today. His name was Fred and he was an amber corn. He was young! We purchased him in February.

I'm not really sure what happened. He was thriving. He ate well this week and nothing changed with his tank or temps. Everything was working properly.

The only sign of anything wrong is a dark blackish green looking spot about halfway down his body on his belly.

Little man is shedding quite a few tears tonight.

The first pic of Fred didn't work. Trying this again with an attachment.

The spot on the belly is something that usually happens after a snake dies. It is caused by the gallbladder leaking or rupturing and staining the area with bile. It's likely not the cause of death, just something that happens afterward.
