Snake tracks in the snow?

Hello all, I have a question for any snake experts out there.

So I noticed tonight what appears to be snake tracks leading to (or from) the porch of my condo into the little stand of woods we have in the back yard. These are tracks in the snow that would look like a bicicle wheel had been rolled across the 10 feet or so from the porch to the woods. They're about 2-3 inches wide, about an inch deep. The weird thing is that there's about a 5 foot track leading out from the woods, that then branches off, eventually coming to underneath my porch. I cant think of anything else this might be other than a snake, as there are no other markings beside it.

I've attached a drawing that should kind of explain the tracks.

So, is anyone that's familiar with snakes, agree? FYI, I live in the Kansas City area, and it's been around 30 to 40 degrees out lately. Thanks for any help, trying to decide if I need to call animal control.

With the ice is it possible it's a rodent trail? The rodents may have made the tracks when the snow first fell, and then it froze too hard for them to leave tracks. Any subsequent thaw during the day would melt the tracks and make them uniform, and freezing again at night would make it so the rodent could run without making additional tracks.

I sincerely doubt it's a snake given time of year and outside temperatures.

Vanessa is right, we see voles making those tracks nearly every winter.

Thanks for the replies!

I also figured it was too cold for a snake to be roaming around, but couldn't think of anything else it might be. And I've seen opossum and such around here, so the rodent thing makes more sense.

However... these tracks were definitely made last night. The first time I looked out there was only 2 trails, then an hour or so later there was another. This morning there's a fourth. Also, since it's daylight I've noticed indentations that would make me think it's something with feet, but the indentations are uniform, right down the middle of the trail. Best way I can describe it is like the holes in a belt. They're about 6" apart.

I'll just have to keep my eye out and see if I can catch the critter in action. Thanks again for the help.
