This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

[b]I have a gravid boa. The pre ovulation shed was in Mid January 2002. I am expecting her to drop around mid May. She is off feeding and is very large at this time. But she is currently in shed now. I read a book by J. Ronne that says there is an intermedeate shed half way in to gestation period. My boa is past half way in to dropping, in fact I expect her to give birth anytime in May. Is there something wrong with her?
Please help. Thank you very much.

I don't have any experience breeding boas, but I do with lots of other snakes. One thing I can tell you for sure is don't think that because you read it in a book, then your snake will have to follow the book. One of the better books I ever read on snake breeding was about corn snakes and the author made it clear that at least for corn snakes there is a vast difference as to when they shed before laying eggs. Your snake is shedding because it is ready to shed. If living conditions are right and the snake has not been exposed to things that would make her shed sooner than expected, such as mites, a skin injury etc..., then you should have no problems.

By the way, I forgot to ask, but I have to: is that a turd in the picture with the snake? Yeah you know what I mean, look there to the left of the snake even with the second saddle up from the bottom (or to the left of the snake and straight across from the midsection of the waterbowl) You ask everyone to help you out with a possible shedding/breeding problem, making me think you are serious about wanting to properly care for your snake. Then I noticed what appears to be a big piece of crap in the enclosure. Clean that sh~t out of there. Crap in the cage is one of the best ways to promote disease, including skin infections that can lead to extra sheds. I am often amazed at how many people send out pictures that show how poorly they are keeping their animals; then they expect you to buy amimals from them. Besides that who the heck wants to see pictures of sh~t?<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>?<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>?<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>?? <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'> <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' '> <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>

Hello Glenn,
Thanks for your enlightenment and concern about the cage. Let me reassure you that that cage is always clean and probably one of the most complete set ups for a gravid boa. Let me reassure you that my snakes are well taken care of and are happy. I don't necessarily think though that the picture I posted is a representation of a bad husbandry. And yes I am very serious about my boas. Again, thank you for your reply.
