Actually, I went back to mulch for awhile...currently, I have been using (100% sphagnum) peat moss, and that seems to be working pretty well too. Mulch and sphagnum add to the cleaning process, but are definitely better choices for these guys. They are just too humidity dependent.

Blood Pythons

Although we only deal with Sumatrans and Borneos we have found that repti bark works well. The problem that we had with the sphangum is that it was hard to clean. With the repti bark we could put it in a noodle strainer and clean it that way. Just my two cents.

I was never a big fan of reptibark. I'm sure it is fine if you are working with a relatively small number of animals (not that I have a lot compared to the old days), but IMO it isn't worth the hassle to clean it. With mulch or sphagnum, I can spot clean...or just dump the whole bin (though, unlike reptibark, they are both "dirty")
