New Friend...

I had to give up my flock for personal and "flock" reasons. No, they weren't getting aggressive with me. They were sweet as pie and that didn't change. They were cage-free and a very lovely flock that got along.

However, life sometimes throws us curves that we have to try and hit out of the park. That said, because my flock is gone, I missed having someone around to spoil (do not suggest that I have my grandchildren over more often)

Without further ado (still nameless) Here is my newest friend:

I've been calling her Sugarbear, but the name doesn't seem to fit...so I'm not all that attached to it.

She's a Ragdoll and lives up to her reputation. However, because in her previous home, she was chased by their dog, she seems to have a tendency to hide when scared. I resolved that by buying her the two tall cat trees (one upstairs and one downstairs). She jumps on one of those when frightened instead of hiding under my bed.

She follows me everywhere and sleeps at the foot of my bed (I don't ask her too..she just seems to come in when she feels like it).

Aww. I'd have taken your ekkie girlie in a heartbeat, I miss my guy.

Your new friend is gorgeous, but I'm biased. Vinnie (our raggie) says hubba hubba! How big is she?

She's as big as a two month old baby. The former owners did not tell me how old she was, only that they had only had her for a couple of months, so I am estimating that she must be an adult.

Dilute tortie ragdoll. Really nice. Ragdolls are more like dogs than cats often. Good placid cats. Just make sure you keep up on all the brushing and grooming because even though it's a silk coat, you have a dilute which is a softer hair normally and the loose hairs have a tendancy to matt. Luckily ragdolls tend to be great about grooming and enjoy brushing and fussing.

She definitely is more like a dog than a cat, not standoffish at all.

You know the genetics? I didn't delve deeply into those when I was researching. I was more interested in temperament and looks and was interested in one of the kits on www.loveragdolls.com. But this was meant to be, just before I made a final decision, I decided to check CL to see if any needed a home and THERE SHE WAS!! I wasted no time at all inquiring if she was still available, and as she's with me now, you can see the results of my inquiry.

I groomed her last night, she did have two tangles that needed to be cut out and the girl doesn't seem to get enough of grooming!

I researched before I got her, it's been a while since I had a cat...
