Hi there! I’ve been breeding corns for a few years now and decided to dedicate some reptile room space to ball pythons. After researching morphs, I decided I really liked Candinos and Toffinos (despite their apparently confusing history/genetics) and wanted to start there.
Problem is, I’m having a hard time finding compatibility information between the two morphs. It’s entirely possible I’m using the wrong search terms, so if this has been answered dozens of times, I apologize! All I know (at least in the lines I’m looking at) is that they both carry albino, one comes from candy and the other from toffee, and that there’s some debate regarding ‘purity’ there. But I don’t know what that means.
If one was to breed a Candino to a Toffino.. would the resulting clutch be albinos, double(triple?) hets and Candinos/Toffinos? Or nothing interesting at all?
I’ve been doing a research on this question but am finding some very mixed information and I was hoping someone could clarify! Also, what is it about the value and purity of the morphs that’s debated? Thanks in advance for any help, or feel free to push me toward using either to breed something more interesting. I’m not really looking to make bank - just to educate myself and have some nice looking animals as a result
