Early this month I recieved a really cool paradox-type amazon tree boa baby from Ralph and Tanya Chapman of The Dark Grove! The Dark Grove

The animal arrived via Fed-Ex from California to Kentucky in excellent condition and was just as stunning in the flesh as Ralph's pics represented.
The little guy was a bit touchy to get feeding at first so I gave him several days after initial feeding attempts to acclimate.  LoL!...Ralph had prewarned me about this particular baby and recommended to "bring a book to read while trying to feed him" because "He takes his time , seriously, before deciding it(the pinky) is to his standards!".  The neonate was a tricky feeder initially but I finally got him to eat his first pink by lightly blowing into his face which caused him to aggressively strike and hold. I gave him two pinks in his first meal which put him into a shed. Just two days ago he successfully shed and took his second meal within a few minutes with very little coaxing. I am confident this cool little guy will take off beautifully now. He looks georgeous after the shed...A beautiful soft peach base color with odd grey-garden patches making him a stunning paradox-type or what Ralph prefers to call his "patch phase" amazon!  The Dark Grove is highly recommended!!  Check out his website! I see he is back advertising on Kingsnake after a big move and still has cbb emeralds and amazons available!

Ralph is understandably a bit cautious at first email contact -- and careful to scope out his inquiring customer's experience with baby arboreals. but after a couple of emails, I found Ralph easy to deal with and very forthcoming with keeping & breeding (and genetics&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> advice and info. Ralph Chapman of The Dark Grove is an excelllent corallus breeder !

Ralp Chapman/The Dark Grove

I received two of his famous ATBs recently. They came in warm and well packaged. Both animals ate with 1 hour of being place in their new enclosure. Stunning animals to say the least. Ralph was extremely friendly on the phone and offered continued assistance. Top of the line animals from a top of the line breeder.
Thanks

Bummer.........

I am still waiting on ole Mother Nature to warm up just a touch more before getting my 2 little SCREAMERS from Ralph. I have been very pleased with the contact from him about every aspect of this not yet completed transaction.

Man I wish it would warm up at least another 10 or 20 degrees ASAP.

my 2 cents

Just wanted to add my glowing report about Ralph. When my husband got his bonus and said I could buy a snake, we were in the middle of a move, but I knew I wanted one of Ralph's gorgeous babies. So I emailed him to see if the one I wanted was still available. It was, ands Ralph was kind eoungh to hold it for several months while we got moved. I finally received the little one today, and it is more beautiful than expected. Thanks, Ralph, for great customer service and a very nice snake!
