Rites of Spring

Perhaps Texas may be a bit ahead of the nation because of the warm weather here, but I am already doing Spring stuff. Every Spring I do a preliminary weeding, cut back the roses, change the oil in the mower and sharpen the mower blades, and get the containers ready for the little tomato and peppers seedlings I have growing on the porch.
Already everything is sprouting, and it looks like Spring.

What do y'all do when Spring arrives in your garden?

DAND
Since I have a number of trees that would take two people to put their arms around, the first of my spring time projects are picking up all the sticks, twigs and branches (mind you, branches from some of my trees are as big around as my leg and 10 to 20 feet long) that have fallen down during the snow and ice of winter. Trimming of any damaged trees and shrubs will add to the many piles of lumber. Then comes the picking up of the leaves I couldn't get to before the snows came.

Having 3 dogs, I then get to collect the fertilizer they have left behind over the winter months.

All the machines get the spring maintenance of oil changes, sharpening and greasing.
