Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Newspaper/mulch
My garden has got kinda weedy in places so I am going to work on it later this week. One method that has worked well for me in the past is the newspaper/mulch method where you put down several sheets of newspaper around your existing plants and put mulch on top.
The newspaper is somewhat permeable to water (although I have those 'weeper' hoses in my garden that go under the newspaper) yet does a fairly good job of stopping weed growth.
It does this for about a year, then the newspaper decomposes as does the mulch and need to be done again. Areas that are less formal, like my wildflower/perennial beds, cannot use this method as the reseeding from the wildflowers requires some exposed soil, so mostly I use the newspaper/mulch in my rose beds.
Anyone else use this method of weed control?

I do, I do! It works rather well for me. The only time it doesn't is when the squirrels decide to read the comics. Damn  squirrels.
