How much does a tankful cost you?

Friday, my teeny little Corolla cost $35 to fill up at the station. That is serious money: I remember tankfuls of gas for under $10 some years ago, and when I was younger, filling the Honda 175cc for a couple bucks

How much did it cost you last time you filled your vehicle at the service station?

$76 and that was when diesel was $2.479/gallon. It's now $2.999 here.

I usually don't wait until the tank is more than 3/4 empty before I fill up, but if it were, it would be $75-77 for the truck and $40-42 for the car (at yesterday's prices for premium.) Both of them can go about 400 miles on a full tank, so guess which one hasn't moved lately...

I think an interesting statistic would be how much it costs to drive say 10 miles. For my truck it would be about $1.90 and $1.03 for the car.

I was at half a tank this morning and seeing as i didn't want to stop tomorrow to get gas before work, i went today. At $1.25/litre (ya Canadian), $20 only got me up to around 3/4 of a tank........so $20 will only give me around a 1/4 tank of gas. I'm driving a Sunfire by the way.

Because i've been working at the big store, instead of the small one i was hired for........i'm now driving over an hour to work........costs me about $20 per trip. Seems i'm getting paid to drive to work......yay!

My fuel tank has a capacity of 34 gallons and normally I fill it when I need 25-28 gallons. This last time I took a bit over 30 gallons as I was late for the airport to pick up my daughter. I burned an additional 2-2.5 gallons getting there and fueled up after I got her. If I were to buy a "full" tank of 34 gallons it would currently be $112. A more typical fill up of 25-28 gallons would be $75-$84.

I can comfortably go 500+ miles between fill ups if need be.

$40 to fill our 12-gallon tank for our Ford Focus. Luckily for us we moved into town 2 years ago... we used to drive 45 miles one way just to get to work, so each day it was 90 miles round trip. Now it's probably 3 miles round trip.

Just got gas today, on an almost empty tank- $3.24/gallon, and it took about $38 to full up my Grand Am. If I had a horse, I'd ride it to work instead of driving!

I used to have a '93 K2500 4X4 Suburban with a 44 gallon tank. ...glad I got rid of that. At today's prices it would cost around $140 to fill it, although it was able to hit 600miles/tank! I remember thinking it was absurd when I'd go to fill it and the pump would cut off at $50 if you were paying with a credit card. They've recently upped that limit to $100.

My truck hasn't moved since last Monday, and I parked it on a full tank so I haven't filled it up on the higher prices. A full tank would run about $45 now.
I've just been riding the bike everywhere thanks to the long overdue decent weather we're getting. Costs about $13 a tank for it and that gets me 180 miles.

I'm glad I get atleast descent gas milage. This is insane. The reason we switched to petroleum from organic fuels in the earlier years is because it was cheaper and at the time very abundant. Obviously times have changed, I don't understand why we can't begin switching back to organic fuel. Not only would it save the consumer lots of money, but the industrial and agricultural economy would 'boom.' The country would be saving billions per year. The thing is.. bush wouldn't be getting so much money from his big hand in the oil...
