what is a good alige eater for a 2.5 gallon tank

If it's heated you could try a small plecostomus. It will outgrow the tank but they do well.

If it's not heated try a chinese algae eater, they do a bang up job too.

no the tank is not heated do you have pic of the chinese algae eater by the way i just curious how it looks

A couple of Otocinclus cats might be your best bet but make sure the store you buy them from has had them in stock for at least 2 weeks before you buy them. They do not acclimate very well but once they do they are pretty hardy. You could also try a bristlenose plecostomus. Try to find a tank raised specimen which shouldn't be too difficult. They are much better than a Chinese algae eater, they don't get as big and they don't turn mean. If you can find a Siamese algae eater that might be even better but they are not to easy to find.

i agree with the otocinclus. everything else will outgrow your tank in a matter of months
