Baking wood

I posted this in the general forum but there doesnt seem to be much trafic there. I currently have a piece of wood i found out side soaking in some diluted bleach water to kill all the bad stuff. but i have heard of the best way to get all the out side stuff is to bake it in the oven, but i have no idea at which temature or how long to bake it. does anyone know??

Bake it for an hour or so at 200 - 250 degrees. Rinse it well first , soak in fresh water a couple of times to draw as much bleach out. The baking will help with that too. If you have a metal pot big enough you can boil for an hour as another option.

Once you have it baked or boiled , seal it with a water based sealer to keep it from absorbing urine or spilled water. Any sharp edges should sanded too.

I will tell you another way, put it in a plastic bag add a little water seal the bag and pop it into the microwave until the water makes steam, it will kill all unwanted life as well.

Yes. Plenty of bacteria can survive freezing.
