Question about shipping terms

I was just wondering what your opinions on the following shipping terms are:

We are not responsible for animals sent in temperatures about 79F and below 40F.

If a customer insists on having them shipped during temperatures that are outside this range, should the shipper bear any responsibility for the animals?

We are trying to deal with a customer that wanted to receive animals outside this range. Although the animals were properly packed, 1 was DOA and the other died the following day. We have offered to replace them at our cost yet he still insists that it is our fault. Any comments?

I would replace them even tho its his fault for pressuring you into shipping outside your terms.

However if he is rude in any possible way, i would tell him to get lost.

Yeah, I agree with Corey on this one. I would probably replace them also. It is such a rare occurance (we have had 1 DOA in over 20 years of business) that I would have no problem sending replacements, even if the customer said not to worry about it, that they knew the risk they were taking, I would probably still do it.

well a customer cant MAKE you ship?,,, the lesson here is if shipping snakes through temp.zones hi or low that you feel are to risky dont do it,period!,,,,however if done properly w/heat or cold packs it can be done safely as they should be enroute no more 24hrs.max, also for summer shipments i have the carrier HOLD the shipment at the counter for customer p/u this way it spends no time in a delivery truck waiting/cooking,,,im sorry but if you sent snakes you are responsible for them getting there safely no customer can make that decision only you can,,,,peace good luck thomas davis T&S reptile farm
