Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Important Insect Regulation! Read!!!!
Pass this on:
US Department of Agriculture has advised us today that they are 100% enforcing an insect regulation that has been on the books for decades. Basically it is illegal to do any trade in exotic praying mantis species, imported or captive bred and they are confiscating any that are already in the US that they find at dealers, retail store etc and notifying to not import or purchase mantis anymore. The only species allowed trade are USA species and USA established Chinese mantis that are already in USA. They will NOT be issuing any permits for mantis species
The same regulation also covers all millipedes species but they are not confiscating millipedes as yet just advising to not import anymore. PLEASE pass this information on so as to prevent any importer from having their shipment of mantis stock seized.
If you require any further information please contact Dr Wehling at USDA wayne.f.wehling@aphis.usda.gov

Wait, the law never covered mantids nor millipedes! More like cockroaches, moths, butterfiles, walking sticks, grasshoppers, etc. Where did you get this info?

Since they have SUCH a wonderful reputation as quality suppliers of reptiles, cough cough, I would take anything they say with a grain of salt.
It may be true but calzoo is not really the place I would go for facts.

Just doing my part to pass along information, if it were in fact true it would be valuable information. If not perhaps a clarification is in order... Im sure this information can be verified or clarified by contacting Dr Wehling at USDA wayne.f.wehling@aphis.usda.gov
We've dealt with calzoo quite a few times and have yet to encounter a problem or sub-par specimens. I guess everyones experiences with different suppliers varies but anyways, lets keep this on topic and see if we can find a better explanation for this "new" crackdown they seem to be imposing.

Not that I'm aware of, thats the only info that was included in the mail. It looked as if it was sent to all those on thier current mailing list. Figured it would be worth posting here for review.
I did contact the individual at the usda email address included, and am awaiting a reply.

Is a millipede an insect? If not, why would it be included if they're only targeting insects?
