odd behavior

my male has recently began digging in his humid hide and has been very protective of his cage lately. the other night i was misting his humid hide and he kept trying to attack the water, one of the times he was actually almost able to jump completely out of his cage, he probably jumped a little bit over a foot high. i was just curous if anybody had ever noticed this type of behavior with their males before and if so if you knew why they would act like this. also this morning i had one of my females lay in her water dish and was wondering if anybody had a rough estimate of how long an egg could be in there before it would drown as i have no idea how long it has been in there (she was bred to a different male than the one above).

thanks,
Justin

ive had a leo lay in the water dish (or maybe it was Chads) i dont know how long they were in there but they hatched fine. your male sounds like a territory or testoserone thing maybe he caught a whiff of another male or a female, i dont know, but i know Duece would freak out to being sprayed. try spraying indirectly or start away from his head
