Reccomendation for intermiediate+ species pls

hello I will start by saying I have around 15 years experience keeping herps but trimmed my collection down significantly before a move and job change. I'm now looking to get back into chams and have kept and bred Furcifer pardalis, Trioceros melleri (only a single individual for several years no breeding), and Trioceros jacksonii. I really want to acquire/keep Calumma parsonii but have heard they are quite high maintenance even on the chameleons scale and so am inquiring to you chameleon gurus whomever you may be what a good alternative would be with as close to the same care/requirements as the Parsons but perhaps a bit more forgiving (if only marginally so) and with slightly less space reqs. Call it a test run but with a species I'm sure I'll enjoy in it's own right as well.

Thx! -Ryan

I'm no guru, nor a breeder. Just a hobbyist who has kept various CB only cham species for a long while; different locales of Panthers (Ambilobe, Ambanja, Sambava, and a couple of "mutts") along with a trio of Veiled's (bred), a single male Meller's for nearly 10 years, and a Trioceros quadricornis.

While I would have LOVED a Parson's, that one was always a pipe dream; very hard to come by and difficult to justify financially when I have other bills to pay, lol.

I don't really know how close they come to Parson's relative to husbandry, but if you are looking for a nice large cham, then maybe a Furcifer oustaleti would be good. But again, hard to find CB and I, as a personal choice, don't wish to further the WC trade by any purchase.

Good luck ... hope you find that perfect cham. Me, I'd love another Meller's.
