Any body want to help me out and ID

Any ideas what they may be? They are tiny about 2-3 inches and were born live..

Thanks in advance
Sorry if I posted in the wrong sections

Do you have pictures of the parents? Their really aren't that many live bearing snakes, so it should be fairly easy to determine what they are. When I first looked at the photos with their coloring and shiny-ness I thought I was looking at legless salamanders!

No pics of the parents.
These were dropped off at my local pet store that may sister works and "gifted" to me.

A couple found a snake in NY ( no idea where) brought it home and it gave birth to about 20-25 of these little guys.

They have whitish grey bellies

Pictures of the parents would be your best bet because hatchling to adult can vary greatly depending on the species. Assuming that the information you were provided is correct (live bearing w/c from NY), that might help in identification.

It looks to me like it could be a water snake. But it's not a Northern Water Snake.

I'll see if I can find anything.

Looks kinda like them

Now what do I do with them? Can I just let them go if I find out they are native which i think they are.

Damn it I was kinda liking the little guys

That is what I am thinking as well.
Now I have to find out if it is legal to keep a couple of them.

Thanks for the help :-)

Well, they're not on West Virginia's Rare, Threatened and Endangered List.

Those are cool looking, the fun part now is finding a food source they are willing to eat. For what ever reason, if it does not eat a rodent, I cannot get them to eat. It would be cool if you would keep us updated, heck, snap some photos of them eating a snail, that would be cool.
