Thumbs up i now have a pair of king snakes.

I never thought i would be a owner of any king snake.Well i recently traded some silver queen corns from my first clutch this year for this pair of kings and a jungle corn(his pic is in the corn section). The female 50/50 is het for albino and the male 50/50 is just a normal.I just love there patterns and the colors plus they are pretty calm.Last time i looked at a king snake it tried to kill me .Well here they are the female first then the male.

While those snakes are quite pretty, they are not 50-50s.

What you have there look like very nice banded desert kings.

These are 50-50s.

Maybe. I see this all the time though; people calling all kinds of stuff 50-50s.

To be a 50-50 you really have to have half white and half black, hence the 50-50.

They may well be out of one or two 50-50 parents, I have had that happen on occasion. You may get 50-50s out of them when you breed them.

My understanding is that a recessive gene is responsible for the wide bands that make a 50-50. Someday I'd like to have the space to experiment with different morphs and such - it would ne neat to breed some tripple or even quadruple hets that look like normal banded kings, but have a high degree of variability in their offspring.
