Where is the answer? I don't know but I have always heard to keep with your first instinct and not to change answers on tests, so I guess it would apply here?

ok been waiting on this, I think Donnie should give the next question. But I wanted to give the answer and why...

Yes switch, very long answer so keep reading.

As Kevin originally posted he asked for the percentage...so here is what to look at:

At the start you have a 1/3 chance of picking the car. The mathmatical error with the problem as given is you need to assume that the host must reveal a door, and the host must give you the option. So on first thought you would think that you have a 1/2 chance when given the option after door 3 is revealed.

Here are the three choices.

1.) You picked Goat 1 and the Host revealed Goat 2, leaving the car behind the last door.

2.) You picked Goat 2 and the Host revealed Goat 1, leaving the car behind the last door.

3.) You picked the car and the host revealed either goat leaving a goat behind the last door.

So with the assumtion that the host reveals a door and your allowed to choose it would be a 2/3 advantage to change your selection.

(that is the correct answer yes switch) Now for me the mathmatician and stickler on details the flaw is this:

Your choices

1.) You picked Goat 1 and the Host revealed Goat 2, leaving the car behind the last door.

2.) You picked Goat 2 and the Host revealed Goat 1, leaving the car behind the last door.

3.) You picked the car the host revealed goat 1, leaving goat 2 behind the last door.

4.) you picked the car the host revealed goat 2 leaving goat 1 behind the last door.

Oh well, far be it for me to argue with the big dogs of the world.....

Rozann, the reason you should switch is like Michael said. The odds aren't equal with this scenario. If the odds were equal then you're correct, stay with your first choice. For example if no other doors were opened.

Anyway, Michael already gave the answer but here's the full explanation.

one one, one three, two ones, three twos, one one or 1113213211

next-describing this new row

three ones, one three, one two, one one, one three, one two, two ones
31 13 12 11 13 12 21

Thats correct Kevin.

Each new line describes the previous line:

Here it is in written format.
Line two is describing line one

line two One, One
Line 3 Two, Ones
Line 4 One two, one one

so the next line would be 1113213211

Great job can't wait for your question.....

Back to reptiles.

The following quote:

Quote:
"Why do you like snakes?" This is a question I am often asked, and the answer is simply, "Because I think they are beautiful."
Is the first line of Chapter One of what book. It happens to be one of my favorites, as is the other one by the same author - BTW that's a hint.

Okay either no one is playing anymore or the question was too difficult.

Another hint.

1 - wrote two books (that I know of)

2- a chapter in this book resulted in an annual pilgrimage of herpers going to "okeetee country" each spring.
