Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Jungle Bob
I had the pleasure to meet Jungle Bob at the Farmingdale NY show on Oct 17th of 2009 and i must say that he was very friendly and informative. His animals all were in quality condition and none seemed even remotely sick. He gave me a flyer to his store and i stopped by maybe a month later. His store was nothing like the claim and his animals are fed properly.
As far as im concered Jungle Bob is one of the good people in the business

I'd hate to say that anybody loses in this case, but I'd definitely like to see the op either post proof ( highly doubtful ) or realize that this is a business, and not high school drama.
Just to totally disprove the claims I think it would be awesome if Bob could post some pics of his animals, and store just so everybody could see that his animals, and store are kept clean and healthy.
Not that Bob is obligated to do so since the op has posted nothing to back his story but I think it would be like a fail safe for Bob's reputation.

I'd say I hate being right, but I actually love it.

That's actually not a bad idea Bob. If you was to post some pics of your store and some of the set ups, the OP would have to work hard to come up with believable proof to the contrary.

I've been a customer of Jungle Bob's over the last five years ( it's gone through different names and owners before the current though ) and can't say I've ever found anything like what is being described by the OP. I obviously can't speak about the claims of docking pay or overselling ( though we know that unfortunately most businesses practice that to some degree or other so always do your OWN research before purchase ) but I have never seen a dead animal in the store. I usually go to pick up feeders and chitchat a little, maybe buying a nonfeeder once or twice and a small purchase at that, yet never ever was pressured into making an animal or equipment purchase. Heck, the employees on more than one occasion showed me how to probe a snake ( mind you this was on their own snake, not one that I purchased from them first ) and have refunded, no questions asked, a purchase I made that was expired before I purchased it but for which I no longer had the receipt or proof - mind you I even returned it a month after mentioning it to them. I rarely post on these boards these days, especially in threads like this but I really hate to see a local business, especially one in our hobby for which there are few brick and mortar shops left and which does a good job, trashed like this.

Objectivity anyone?
Hmm is it just me or did everyone seem all gung-ho about "proof" at first? Jungle Bob provided zero proof of anything, yet everybody seems to be on his side now...
And then Jungle Bob comes in, verbally slanders the OP and calls him names (are we 5 years old?), threatens him with tax audits, accuses him of shoplifting, and admitted he had a dead animal on display in a shop cage. Mmmm what am I missing here?
Also (fairly obviously IMO) none of you have have kept Rhacodactylus leachianus before, or if you have, I feel sorry for the thing(s). A three year old leachie that weighs 42 grams is really, really sad. That's breeding age for most adult leachies, when they should be 170-400 grams in weight. 5-10 times as heavier than this one was. A gecko that skinny / small at that age indicates a lifetime of stress for the animal and very poor husbandry knowledge on the part of the keeper. Leachianus geckos are not for beginners or to be sold as a "common reptile shop pet". They are for semi-experienced to experienced keepers only and are NOT easy to breed. They are endangered in the wild and not terribly common in captivity. Why an animal like this was for sale to just anybody is slightly surprising to me...
The OP did provide proof and pics, just not in this thread. See this one...
http://www.forums.repashy.com/rhacod...41-rescue.html
I'm not taking sides here I'm just pointing out that most of you seem to be failing at being objective and/or knowing about the animal species that is central to this debate.
I can identify with the OP because I have bought Leachianus before from a store that was not taking care of the animals well, and I felt sorry for the Leachianus geckos especially since they aren't common int the pet trade and rare species especially need to be properly cared for. There were two at the store and I could only afford one at the time. He weighed 7 grams when I bought him, and 3 months later is over 35 grams. I went and visited the shop again and the sibling (which was of identical size when I bought it) was still almost exactly the same size as it was 3 months ago (about 6-8 grams). I don't regret buying the animal, and attempted to explain to the shop owner why I bought the animal (when I bought it, not 3 months later) and what they should do differently in caring for the one I couldn't afford. They obviously neglected to heed my advice. Bummer.
