Broadleaf mix 1/4 lb Free Shipping!

All new broad leaf seed mix picked for their nutritional value and easy to grow inside (under lights) or outside. All new in this mix is mache, radicchio, and Italian dandelion.

It contains:

Crimson Clover
A perennial with trifoliate leaves and pink to red flowers. Crimson clover is often planted as a component of pasture and forage mixes. Its an excellent food for herbivorous reptiles

Red Clover
Also known as double-cut red clover. Most widely adapted of the true clovers. Mixes well with grass, used for hay, pasture, and soil improvement. Fertile, well-drained loams, silt loams, even fairly heavy textured soils are preferred to light or gravelly soils.

It is a good source of Protein, Vitamin A, Niacin and Calcium, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Folate, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Zinc, Copper and Manganese. Red clover sprouts are easily digested, too.

New Zealand White Clover (Trifolium repens)
Growing to only 8 inches, this low perennial clover has a growth habit similar to White Dutch Clover but will stand drought conditions better, is more vigorous, and tolerates a wide range of soils. Although it grows year round, it is often used for both a spring and fall cover crop

Chicory (Cichorium intybus)
The leaves of Chicory look very much like dandelion leaves. They grow up to six inches long and are narrow with large teeth. These leaves grow low to the ground.

Chicory often grows where other plants cannot. Like its dandelion cousin, the roots of Chicory can penetrate hard-packed soil.

Plantain (Plantago major)
Plantago major is a native United States plant which is widely distributed in all states and is a common weed which you have probably seen in your yard or garden.

This variety is huge !!!

Turnip Greens
Grown for its greens only. Tops keep color better in cooler seasons.
Excellent nutritional qualities for herbivores. Very high in calcium. These can be grown in a garden or in pots.

Chia
Chia seeds sprout into nutrition packed plants. They are high in Vitamins A, B, C and E, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Niacin and Potassium. They have all essential Amino Acids and are loaded with Antioxidants.

Mache AKA corn salad (Valerianella locusta)

Like other foraged greens, corn salad has many nutrients, including three times as much vitamin C as lettuce, beta-carotene, B6, B9, vitamin E, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Radicchio (Cichorium intybus)
It is also a good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Zinc, and a very good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), Vitamin K, Folate, Potassium, Copper and Manganese.

Its a favorite of my tortoises.

Itallian Dandelion (Cichorium intybus)
The leaves are bright green, long and very frilled, but have a desirably less prominent stalk than more common varieties. The plants are erect, 12 inches tall, and form very heavy bunches.

Purslane
Purslane is an upright herb with juicy, succulent oval leaves and mild sweet-sour flavor. Plants will regrow after cutting. The plant is very high in omega 3 fatty acids.
