Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

bearded dragon color change?
I just received 2 3 week old beardies from Miami bearded dragons aka beardeddragonbreeder.com and they look nothing like I'd imagined. I ordered a red and a super orange. What I take to be the orange is a very faded green. I can barely make out orange. By no means super orange or like the other orange hatchling of the same age pictured on the site. The red is a dark olive color that doesn't show a hint of red anywhere. My question is, do some beardies take more time to grow into their color? Is this dark green actually going to turn bright red? Will this 'super orange' even resemble something orange as an adult? Or have I simply been scammed yet again? Thanks for the help!
Phil

If your just taking them out of the box their color is going to be way off. Due to coldness and stress they will be a lot darker than what they are normally. You need to give them time to heat up and relax.
Dragons do change color as they get older. Some show more and some show less as they age. Did you get pictures of the dragons before they were shipped?

Just got off the phone with the breeder and this is what he said. Beardies change colors at different rates. Some will show colors after a couple months and other (like his super orange) won't show color until 9 months of age. After every shed, they gain a little more color. I'll come back in almost a year I guess and post pictures. =P I'm going to take a ton of pics along the way.

Yeah I was wondering that because the box was a little cold. I didn't get pictures of them before shipping because on the sale page it said "28 day old orange baby" and it was really, really orange. http://beardeddragonbreeder.com/_wsn/page3.html that one looks a little older than 4 weeks, but maybe he's just a pig with the crickets.

Why are you buying from someone that is selling baby beardies that are under 6 weeks old?

I agree, no beardie should be sold under at least 6 weeks old. I usually will not let mine go till 8 weeks. Shanell

Congratulations on your new family members. I hope everything works out with them and that they "color up" for you.

When the dragon gets comfortable with it's surroundings and has shed a couple times you should see a lot more color. It may not look exactly like the sample pic though as different babies from the same clutch can have very dissimilar coloration. I sell mine with individual pics of each dragon due to this factor, I'd hate for someone to expect something like one of my holdbacks and get a pet quality dragon in the mail.
