mealworms

I heard mealworms turn into beetles after a while. I had found some where the worms had hid underneath the paper towel and some turned into beetles. I cleaned out the tank and thought I got them all. Today one crept out of the driftwood right in front of my dragon. Before I had a chance to get it the beardie gobbled it down. Does anyone know if it would hurt him or not? So far he's ok but I wasn't sure if there would be any problems later.

I feed my guys the beetles all the time. Just make sure you don't let really small beardies eat them. The shells are hard to digest and pass.

He's still fairly young. I would pass on giving him the Beatles until he's at least 12"-13" in length. Better safe than sorry.....

Well I didn't plan on giving him the beetle. I thought I got them all out after I found some of the worms had changed. I just hope there are no more in there. I even put the driftwood in the oven and that sucker still survived.

you should get you some adult meal worms and let them start morphing into beatles and if you can get about 50 not even that you will have plenty of meal worms for yourself. at first it seems like for ever before you start seeing anything but when they start growing up they just keep coming and coming

Thats great. I spend a lot on mealworms. It would be nice to do my own and save it for all the other stuff I need since I have 3 bearded dragons.
