Everyone has been drooling over them on the meerkat shows, and wondering where they can get one..here you go! Naja nivea are completely variable in coloration throughout most of their natural range. Animals from the same clutch can be brown, yellow, speckled, or any shade in between. The color of the adults, gives no indication of how the offspring will turn out. ALL baby nivea are born straw yellow, with a black band across the throat. At about one year, the throat band disappears, and the snake will start to take on its adult coloration. It is impossible to determine what color a newly hatched nivea will turn out to be as an adult. Thats the bad news...
Now the good news:We now offer an exception. Within a limited portion of the southern African range, the animals display consistent and uniform color...GOLD. Only breeding two animals from this population will produce predictable results. The babies hatch out exactly like any nivea (as these did in early September), but they quickly start to distinguish themselves from any other nivea available on the market. After only one shed (going blue again now), they are already more colorful than I expected, by this age. This pair is feeding on thawed pink mice and growing fast. Pictures are the pair, and the adult parents.
1.1 cb13 gold Naja nivea $1000 for the pair. Or 1.2 $1250
