Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Where do you find a breeder that sells pet quality geckos?
My son has been doing lots of research on what lizard he wants as a pet and he really wants a crested gecko. I am actually pretty proud of the kid, he saved his chore money all summer and now has a terrarium set up and everything.
He also spent countless hours trying to catch a five lined skink in the yard but that never panned out...
He. doesn't, however, have enough money for a fancy morph. Nor does he particularly want one. I'd rather not go to Petco because I have heard (and seen) horror stories about how they treat their animals. There is a privately owned pet store around here, but they make Petco look like Shangri la.
So do you guys know of anyone who breeds or sells regular pet quality geckos on the side?

Many breeders that sell high end morphs will have some lower end stuff, too. Your best bet is to find a few breeders that have good reps and email them with what you're looking for. They may also be able to recommend someone if they don't have anything available. Also, check the ads here. You may find the perfect gecko already posted. Good luck!

Well depending on the species, a normal leopard gecko or even an albino are seriously cheap. And they are always plentiful all you have to do is ask around, most people don't advertise their normals online as people don't buy them online, and shows are a great place to look also. For other species breeders don't breed for low end pet quality. You may find some pet quality only animals but that would be due to a defect, but in general online breeders of species such as crested geckos or gargoyle geckos don't keep super low end, it isn't easy genetics like a leopard gecko, there is no "normal", either you have a good quality animal or you have a poor quality animal, and most online breeders (I said most lol) strive for good if not great quality. So for these species youre better off going to a show and checking to see if you can find a $30 crested gecko, or a $40 gargoyle gecko.

A show is a great idea, you may also want to try to contact a local reptile society, not only can it be a fun educational group for you and your son to be a part of, a lot of small time hobby breeders can be found there. good luck!
here is a link to the Georgia reptile society:
