Amazon Reptiles: A poll

This is a poll concerning Amazon reptiles in Tampa. Only post why you voted the way you did. To post a opinion on this matter please go to the existing thread. The purpose here is:

1) To show the real owner of Amazon Reptiles that word of mouth is deadly and Angela is killing him.

2) To see what everyone thinks about the store (Amazon)

this should be under general discussions..not right behind the other amazon thread.
it gets old to see these kind of posts..geesh im sure the owner gets the idea no need to belabor the point.

I agree.... I would HOPE that Tom has gotten the point of all this.... Especially myself! I have NO problem with Tom, OR his store being where it is.... I told Tom all I knew when he first opened?? I actually told him that he probably did me the biggest favor anyone has EVER done for me! Obviously, he chose to disregard my advice.... as I said before.... it's his store....

Kim, you areright and I am sorry for puting it in the wrong place. The reason I made the poll is to see what everyone  thoughts are on this subject. Many people have their opinions on it but do not want to post them. I am sure that Tom does see the damage that Angela has done to his store and the herp buisness in Tampa Bay, as Neil stated Tom was forewarned of Angela's "problems" and even after that he still hired her and now he may lose everything. Angela is a DIS-honest person but it seems that she is a very convinceing liar, so maybe if he sees in a poll what people think of her the light will come on. Heck, Josie has said that if he "Tom" doesn't do something with her then she (Josie) will see them in court. Now to me I take that as fire her or I'll sue you. That is the reason for the poll, now if the webmaster can move then please do.

Well you said we could post our opinions on some other thread, but my opinion is about this poll not about another thread, so I will post it here.

This poll is outrageously biased in one direction and that is to get people to vote that they either would not make a purchase from the dealer in question or would only do so based upon certain conditions. Now if you do not believe it to be biased then take a chill pill and a step back. Then look at how many choices there are that allow you to pick the I would buy option as opposed to the I would not buy. There were supposedly to be 9 options (however only 8 came out correctly) out of which 3 allow you to choose I would buy (two of those based on strict conditions about Angela), and then there are 5 you can choose from that indicate outright or imply that you would not buy.

I don't give a hoot about the dealer or Angela his employee. I am solely commenting on the pole itself. In all fairmess the scales should not be weighted so much so in favor of the negative reply - don't you think?

Glenn, when I posted this poll I tried to cover all bases with 2 possible answers would you or would you not deal with Amazon. Now if the answer was that you would than you would no matter what so I did not see a point to put 2 or 3 reasons why you would. Now I put a second choice I would but only if Angela was fired, this was for the people that like Amazon but do not like the way Angela does buisness and then yes I put 6 (but I wanted 7) reasons why you would not deal with Amazon again. I am sorry if you feel that this was a slanted poll but I think that it is fair, If you will check yes if you won't check no next to the closes reason given. Can I ask you how you would have posted the choices? Because as you can see the majority would never deal with them again anyway.

Oh, I'm sorry a third choice was given, tes I would if Angela gives a apology.

Well after having some recent experience with a poll and getting lots of feedback, and learning from my own mistakes: I would try to use less inflammatory language than you did for a start. Then I would make as many yes options as there were no options and I would also likely ad a neutral option. I would also definitely left out the one about &quot;she or they or whomever stole from Neil&quot; kind of thing. There is absolutely no need in a such a poll to mention an alleged victim's name unless you are trying to get the sympathy votes from friends of the alleged victim.

As far as choices such as 'Yes but only if someone gives a written apology' then why not have another choice that says 'Yes up until the time this person is proven guilty in a court of law' (maybe she has already I am not too familiar with the case, but am really commenting on the poll style).

I would also try to leave out the answers that allow the person whom is being polled to play the part of a crusader. The choice: &quot;5) Never, and I will spread the word to my family and Friends&quot; is just that type of poll choice in my opinion. You are giving the person taking the poll the option of not only answering the poll but suggesting they do it in a noble way and spread the word of the wrong doer. To balance it out why was there not a choice saying: &quot;Always, and I will encourage my friends and family to buy from them too&quot;? At least this way the crusading could have been done for both sides.

To really be fair to all involved, a poll should have choices that sort of counterbalance one another with opposing views; and there should also be a neutral viewpoint.

I got these ideas on polls from some feedback here on this site and from some post graduate degree work I am doing. It may not work every time but I think would be appropriate in a poll like this if you goal is to create an objective as opposed to subjective poll.

Glenn, I see your point and it is well taken.

Glenn.... I have to agree with you.... if you're going to have a poll, it really should be equal and not written in a way the shows bias one way or another.... but Shelly has her own reasons.... I'm sure even you know what she was trying to do? As slanted as it was.... at least she's not trying to mask her feelings....
