Not really.
Property can be confiscated via forfeiture and auctioned off for the proceeds now. You have no right to a trial or warrant prior to the seizure.
You can be stopped on the roadway via traffic stops and have the police demand to see your "papers". You do not have the right to not be detained merely by utilizing the roadways that you paid via your taxes to use.
Your phone and computers can be tapped at will. You have no right to privacy.
You have to pay income taxes, which was not always the case. If you fail to, you can be imprisoned and all of your possessions auctioned off.
Heck, just look at the various laws involving income taxes and try to tell me they are LESS intrusive and burdensome than they used to be decades ago.
Heck, you don't EVEN want me to itemize the various gun laws over the last couple of decades that have completely emasculated the Second Amendment.
Those are all freedoms we have LOST that we USED to have.
Then look at the number of animal laws on the books that have been implemented RECENTLY.
Sorry, but no. Are freedoms are MUCH less than we used to have. It's just that we are just like the frog placed in a bucket with gradually heated water in that we have gotten used to the intrusions on our freedom, and don't even know about most of them.
And yes, I could go on as well........
